We have been born again unto a living hope, for we have been given an eternal “inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven” (1 Pet.1:4). What kindness that has already been bestowed upon us in this life is just a foretaste of the glorious riches reserved for us in the life to come. No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor heart has imagined what God has prepared for us (1 Cor. 2:9). We cannot even begin to imagine what has been laid up for in the age to come. If we could only see the glory that shall be revealed in us, we would throw off all complaints, lose sight of all our temporary losses, and think nothing of our little sacrifices. Every difficulty would seem insignificant in comparison. It will be with an unspeakable joy that we shall behold God face to face. We shall be changed into His glorious likeness. No more sorrow. No more tears. No more pain. Most importantly, no more sin. Soon, we shall rise in the glorious likeness of our Savior and enjoy unbroken fellowship with the One we adore. With a perfect heart, we shall worship the Lord our God and enjoy His fullness for all eternity. Nothing will taint our vision of Him. Nothing will tarnish our affection for Him. Nothing will hinder us from fully enjoying His presence for all eternity. With such a living hope as this, we should hasten the day and cry out, “Come, Lord Jesus!”
